Planning a honeymoon in Paris is like no other destination. You’ve just exchanged vows, and now you’re off to the most romantic city in the world. It’s the perfect place to celebrate your marriage and the start of your new life together.

It’s no secret that Brent and I love to travel. Paris is not only in my heritage, but it’s one of my favorite places! So when we started to plan our trip to France, I couldn’t wait to show him All. The. Things. Like any big city, the options for sightseeing can be endless and overwhelming. And to be honest, we probably could have slowed things down a bit, instead of being overeager to see the city. That was all me… I’m just so excited about all this French! So I’m breaking down my favorite things to do for a *relaxing* (ahem) honeymoon trip to Paris!

paris street, paris buildings Tulieries Garden in Paris, France

Have a picnic in one of the beautiful gardens

The Tulieries is a sprawling garden with lots to see. However there are so many beautiful gardens in Paris! Another one of my favorites is the garden at Palais Royal.

Box of french pastries and lavender

Sample French macarons and other pastries

Ladurée is undoubtably the most well-known macaron shop in Paris. However, there are other hidden gems throughout the city that are just as delicious! While your at it, stop in to Nina’s Marie Antoinette Tea salon, too!

Eiffel Tower, Tour De Eiffel, Trocodero, paris

Visit the Eiffel Tower at Sunset

We visited the Eiffel Tower so many times. I had to find as many ways as I could to photograph it! 🙂 But my favorite will always be at sunset when they turn the glittering lights on. The best unobstructed view is from Trocodero

View from Montmartre, Paris, Sacre Coeur

Take in the breathtaking views from Sacre-Coeur

First things first, wear a pair of comfortable shoes. There are lots of stairs and hilly streets in the Montmartre arrondissement in Paris. But once you get to the top of the Basilica, the skyline is absolutely worth it!

Visit the museums

Museums in Paris are a must, but there are many to choose from. The Louvre is probably the most popular choice. While I would absolutely recommend it (especially the historically preserved wing), but other favorites are L’Orangerie and Musee D’Orsay.

Visit the flea market

Marché aux Puces de Montreuil is quite possibly the largest flea market that I’ve ever visited. I had a blast looking through really old, beautifully preserved antiques. I think I could have filled an entire suitcase with trinkets from the market!

Pont Neuf, Seine river, bridge, paris

Take a sunset cruise along the Seine

This is one of the things that we did NOT get to do on our last trip that I really regret. On my first trip to Paris, I took a sunset cruise along the river and it was so beautiful. Definitely worth it!

Notre Dame Cathedral, church, paris Bistro chair in Paris

Enjoy lunch outside at a bistro

Bistros in France are quintessential, especially at lunchtime. It’s common in France for lunch to be the main meal of the day, so they can be a bit busy during the afternoon. We found that some restaurants close between lunch and dinner, so it might be a good idea to plan in a lunch during a day or sightseeing. You won’t want to be left hungry after walking around the city all day. We definitely made this mistake, but ended up only being able to an ice cream shop open, so I wasn’t too upset about it haha!

Have your portraits taken to capture the moment

Last but not least, don’t forget to document the moments from your honeymoon! There are so many amazing backdrops to take advantage of. I never get tired of taking portraits in Paris! 🙂

Don’t forget to save this to your Pinterest board!
